The unit is a 1993 Mark IV tamper for sale. This machine was originally built in 1993 and then completely rebuilt and updated in 2006. This machine’s serial number is 7190203. This a Fairmont rail lifter that is attached to a dumpy, has hydraulic lift for travel and is self propelled. A hydraulic power pack is used for a power source and doubled as a hydraulic tool power source.
These are inboard planetary axles. In the rail road industry they are used by Kershaw Sky trims and clear away cutters. They are also used in mining and logging, most still have the Styrofoam peanuts in the hubs. They are called Teammate II 1200 series.
